Solas

Celtic Musicians

March 23rd, 7:30PM

Peery's Egyptian Theater

$15/$12

Celebrating their 15th Anniversary in the 2011-2012 season, Solas is one of the most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic bands ever. Solas plays Irish music as well as anyone alive or departed, varying the mix of fire tested tradition and contemporary sensibility with ease.

This evenings concert, "Shamrock City," is a journey through music and song looking back 100 years to the *Richest Hill on Earth*, Butte, Montana, where Irish immigrant Michael Conway lived, loved and died in the copper camp.

Solas' music brings to life the social struggles and dangerous conditions that allowed only the strong and the lucky to survive.

"Solas offers a compellingly original, strikingly contemporary view of traditional Celtic sounds." — Los Angeles Times
